Did you know that Erin….. Has gone to great lengths to ensure she gives you her best pedicure ever? I attended the very first Nail Safety Summit this past May 14, 2016 and received the honored award of MEDICAL NAIL TECH OF THE YEAR. This is the very first award of this kind ever given and I was the honored recipient. I am the first and only Certified Medical Nail Tech in Clarksville. In August of 2015, I became a CCPMA (Certified Clinical Podiatric Medical Assistant. I also hold a Medical Nail Tech Certification and and Medical Advanced Nail Tech Certification. I interned with a well known Podiatrist Dr. Robert Spalding DPM who authored an amazing book Death By Pedicures. A harsh look into the truth behind our industry. Everyone should be educated on what to look for in their tech who will be caring for the hands and feet. At Nail Envi, my goal is to give you the most amazing experience ever, while going above and beyond just taking care of the esthetics of your feet. I also concern myself with the function of the foot and making sure I can answer as many questions as possible about how to alleviate pain you may be experiencing. I do a foot examination and evaluate the shape and form of your foot and make suggestions and ask a lot of questions of you to find the best resolution to your daily challenges with your feet. It all starts when you walk in our front door and into my room you are directed to the selections of polish I will be applying to your toenails. I take your safety and health seriously. Not only are the spa tools I use sterilized in an autoclave (to surgical or dental standards), you also have your very own box of tools. The best part is those tools only touch you and no one else and I store that box for you. For those of you who have never had a pedicure before, it starts with a relaxing soak in the foot tubs on the massaging pedicure chairs. To help you relax and enjoy the experience even more, I will offer you a warm neck wrap, and serve you a cup of coffee or tea if you wish. The next step is to trim, shape and file down your nails. This is done to encourage growth in such a way that the nails do not grow into your flesh, causing painful infections. If an ingrown toenail is already causing you problems, this trimming and shaping will help alleviate this, by training the nail to grow out and not into your toe. Then the rest of your foot gets treated. The cuticles are cleansed and pushed back to encourage healthy nail growth. Then the dry dead skin on the heels and balls of your feet are exfoliated, revealing new, healthy skin. The exfoliation is then finished off with a pumice scrub. The polished pumice gently exfoliates the skin on the rest of your foot, and ankles. It is soothing and leaves behind  smooth, glowing skin. The final step is to massage your foot using a moisturizer. Not only does this feel good, but it will help to smooth over the rough areas on your heels and the balls of your foot.
You should avoid shaving your legs for at least 24 hours before having a pedicure
Finally, I will apply the color you chose initially to finish it off. And if you forgot your sandals or open toed shoes, no worries, we have flip flops available for you to wear, while your polish dries.
But What If You Have Special Problems With Your Feet?
Seventy five percent of the population has a problem of some kind with their feet. These problems can be addressed and treated by a Certified Master Pedicurist. The most common problem is ingrown toenails caused by improper cutting and trimming of the toenail. Other problems include fungus growth, blisters and corns, as well as dry, cracking skin. These conditions, if left untreated, can eventually lead to more debilitating problems. With diabetic feet, these issues can lead to serious medical problems requiring the care of a qualified physician. So what is a Certified Master Pedicurist (C.M.P)  and why should you have them care for your feet? A Certified Master Pedicurist (C.M.P.) has taken an intensive 4 day workshop where the following topics are covered:

  • General Foot Problems
  • Skin and Nail Disorders/Diseases
  • Sanitation
  • Disinfection
  • Sterilization
  • Foot Anatomy
  • Equipment
  • Tools and Implements
  • Product Recommendations to provide ACTUAL RESULTS!

I have successfully completed the course and passed an exam covering the relevant and practical information, and was awarded a certificate which makes me a Certified Master Pedicurist. I am very proud of my designation and the level of care I am able to provide my guests as C.M.Ps.
What am I trained to work with? Certified Master Pedicurists are certified to work with diabetic feet, CVI, chronic dry skin, fungal infections and many other disorders that affect the feet.
